Master Suite Renewed

Metallic Faux Plaster applied by trowelThe luxury we added to both these rooms raises value, comfort, and relaxation to this once dated bedroom suite.  Before we started the bedroom had a standard blown on texture and was painted.  The bath was wallpapered and needed the drywall to be changed on some areas.

Custom Colored Metallic Plaster

We first started the bedroom.  We floated all the texture out with joint compound mud.  It took five layers to finally smooth it out.  We never sand back standard texture because it creates too much dust and leaves a mess our clients will have to deal with for years.  Joint compound is an inexpensive choice when the need to change a walls texture is required.

After the wall is floated we prime and plaster the walls.  Metallic plasters are great for contemporary and transitional decor.  It makes a great feature or focal area as well.  Bars, entry walls, ceilings, and walls can have such a dramatic effect or subtle depending on the application technique.

Limitless Limestone: Two-Tone

The Bathroom had a dated wallpaper pattern and was coming apart in some areas.  We stripped the paper, cleaned the walls, repaired the drywall that was damaged, and primed the walls.  Proper preperation is extremely important when changing a previously wallpapered room.  Cleaning all glue residue is extremely important for the best adhesion for the plaster.  We then trowel on two coats of plaster, compress, and burnish.  Compressing compacts the plaster and burnishing makes it shine.  This finish will have a subtle shine inbetween eggshell and semi-gloss.   This finish is perfect in large rooms like entryways and grand rooms, perfect for bathrooms because it will help regulate humidity, and is an excellent choice for any decor.  In this application we left out all texture and kept it completely smooth with natural pitting created by the sand.

Limitless Limestone is a versatile product and can be applied with many techniques:Bathroom wall Venetian marmorino plaster

  1. Smooth
  2. Hand Textured
  3. Polished
  4. Matte
  5. One – two colors
  6. Limewashed
  7. Old World or Limewashed Antiqued over texture
  8. Waxed

Cost factor:  Since Limitless Limestone is so versatile in application technique it can be very cost effective when applied in a matte hand textured method.  In all cases paint is not necessary and textured choices are often the least labor intensive which will be obviously translated in the overall cost of the job.  Renovation project per sq.ft. cost starts at $4.50 which includes prep and material.

We like keeping the plaster as natural as possible without sealing it, but if your area is commercial or a high traffic area we can apply a wax over it.  This will make the plaster water and stain resistant.  For more information about Limitless Limestone please click on our products page for more information and we hope you enjoy the video.
