Lime Plaster and Dust Resistance

Limestone is a natural earth plaster in use for centuries and it can be found in the ancient tombs of the pharaohs and in the castles of Italy.  It has many home healthy attributes so many I have listed them below.

  • Improve indoor air quality throughout a home or building.
  • Improves perceived comfort in the space due to the humidity controlling aspect of the materials.
  • Decreases carbon dioxide in the air because it absorbs it.
  • Carbonation is the process in which Limitless Limestone becomes stone during the carbon dioxide absorption.
  • Improves sound quality in a space.
  • Outlasts a painted wall. It does not need to be repainted for the life of the walls because the Limitless Limestone itself resists dirt and grime.
  • Resists fading due to the natural mineral pigments.
  • Is a Zero VOC, Zero Formaldehyde choice for your walls.
  • Help Asthma and allergy sufferers.
  • Resists mold and mildew.
  • Contains natural material like lime, marble, sand, and other natural additives.
  • Is easy to change the color in five, ten or fifteen years.   A new color coat can be applied on as easily as paint.
  • Provides unlimited possibilities for wall color and surface treatments.

We purchase our lime from local distributors which helps keep product costs down.  If you are looking for a smooth, hand textured, or Old World look to your walls, let me show you what we have to offer.  Limitless Limestone, Truestone, and Imagestone all contain

Paint is a film of oil bi-products that covers a surface and does not have any of the positive attributes that limestone has.  What is in today’s homes is textured joint compound primed and painted.  The only positive paint has is the color.  Have you ever seen a paint surface that has a leak and forms a bubble where the paint holds the water inside?  So much for water permeability.

I have a mix of faux paint and real lime Venetian plasters in my home.  The top picture is of a faux painted room and the bottom is in a room where natural lime plaster adorns the walls.  If you look at the blade for the painted room you will see a film of dust along the edges. The bottom pic of the lime plastered room has no dust lining the blade.

Lime is abundant in the United States and we have several vendors to choose from depending on what the project calls for, the texture needs, and the overall look. Our Limitless Limestone can be tinted to most colors and it can be textured or smooth, burnished or flat, modeled or with a lot of movement.  It is perfect for all decors, home or business.
