We use metal leafing anytime we can. It is a classy and elegant change to a decor. It can be used on furniture, on light fixtures, on accessories, on walls and ceilings. An important factor to not look over is the texture of the walls and proper preparation. The wall should be either completely flat or have an attractive texture that would look nice with this accent. Textures that don’t work…. Crows feet, orange peel, knock down, and track house textures. Texture that will work… Flat wall, skip trowel, Old World, Spanish trowel, Sandstone. Colors are also very important. You want your base color to compliment your metal leaf not hide it or blend with it.
